Georgetown Loop
The Georgetown Loop Railroad crosses over the Devils Gate Bridge, which stands 95 feet above Clear Creek. It used to provide service between Georgetown and Silver Plume. These cities are separated by about 2 miles (as the crow flies), and 600 feet in height. In order to overcome the grade issues, they had to build a track over 4 1/2 miles long!!
