Mammoth Hot Spring

The first portion of Yellowstone that we visited was Mammoth Hot Springs. This area of Yellowstone is a thermal area that has numerous 'sulphur vents' that send very smelly steam through water into the air.  The end result is 'near boiling' pits of water and/or mud. Oh yeah, and really stinky air.

Mud Volcano Sign This says it all, if you can read it.

Dragons Mouth This is Dragons Mouth.  It's called that because that's what it look like.  More to the point, it emits burst of steam like a fire breathing dragon, and makes 'gurgling' sounds.  To see a movie, click here (I'm sorry that the movie is on it's side).
